Two Days at Pizza Expo Columbus
October 13, 2026 · Columbus, Oh
Pizza Expo Columbus ran Sunday, October 11 and Monday, October 12, 2026 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, and we spent most of both days on the show floor. A trade show like this is mostly conversation. You talk with other people who make pizza for a living, you compare notes on what's working, and you get a close look at equipment you've only seen in photos. We left with a few pieces of new equipment we'd like to bring to Brenz. We won't name any of it until it's real, but it's the kind of thing that can make the pizza better or the shop run smoother, and that's the whole reason to go.
We also competed. Brenz entered the Traditional, Non-Traditional and Dessert categories of the Great American Pizza Challenge. Non-Traditional is the category for pizzas that step outside the usual, and it's where we placed.
Chase Hoffman placed 5th out of 77 in Non-Traditional with his Chicken Katsu Curry pizza. That's a field of 77, and it's a pizza that starts from an idea most people wouldn't think to put on dough. Kyle Rosch placed 2nd in Non-Traditional Columbus with a chicken shawarma kebab pizza. Both of those came out of our kitchens and our people, and we're proud of them.
Competing is a good way to stay honest about the work. Our pizza has been called award-winning, and you keep that by putting new ideas in front of people who know pizza and seeing how they hold up. We'll be back at the Las Vegas show in the spring.
In the meantime, Tuesdays are 25% off the pizza of the week. The Tuesday pizza on November 3, 2026 is the Heater, so that's a simple way to try something from our menu while the Expo is still fresh. Order at brenz.com.
