A morning at the Healthy New Albany Walking Classic

On Sunday, September 13, thousands of people walked the Healthy New Albany Walking Classic, and we set up at the finish line to feed them.

This was the 22nd year of the event and the first under a new focus. Every dollar raised now goes directly to the Healthy New Albany Food Pantry. In 2025 that pantry provided nearly 250,000 meals to more than 1,500 neighbors, and 139 of those households were walking through the door for the first time. The walk happens during Hunger Action Month, which makes the timing feel less like a coincidence and more like the point.

Our team ran the tent from open to close, cutting and serving alongside the other local businesses and organizations that show up for this every year. People crossed the finish line, took a slice, and sat down on the curb to eat it. That is about as good as a Sunday morning gets.
